How sad…

I think it’s funny that, now that I’ve finished “Hammer & Bone,” the only things I really want to write are song lyrics and blog posts.  Honestly, I’m really quite sad that thus far, none of my other story ideas have panned out…

Well, I proved myself wrong.

Lately I have been writing so much that I actually got the book done.  Yes, I said, I got it done.  I’ve finally finished hammering out all the details, and now it’s time to go through and edit.  I have the first draft of it done…  Oh, yeah, I rock!

Alone with my thoughts.

I’m technically a married woman, and yes it’s true that married life can give you great fodder to write.  But it’s also great to be alone with your thoughts, and think on yourself as an individual – not just yourself as a part of a whole.

Think about it.  You brought something unique to the table when you became a couple with your partner.  What is that something unique?  What can that something unique bring to your writing?

Lately, I feel like I’ve not had a lot of inspiration to write.  Things have been hectic and crazy, and my writing has suffered because of it.  But I think later on down the road, this time in my life will help me write more.  I just have to get over this rocky road.  There are just too many bumps.  My pens keep exploding.

So I’m going to wait it out.  I’m fine for the moment, and some of my stories are actually getting some growth.  Do check the Fictionpress for my latest installment of “Hammer & Bone.”

See ya later.

Psychotically writing

Yeah, Muse!  Now this is what I’m talking about!

I’ve had so much spare time on my hands (!!) that I’ve been able to furiously scribble on “Hammer & Bone,” “GAIA,” “The Seven,” and “Fable.”

Woot mee!

More posting

I’ve been digging up some older pieces that I figured I should clean up a bit and post, and perhaps work on a bit more.  These can be found in my FictionPress account.

I’m still working digilently on “Hammer & Bone.”  It’s funny, because the entire story thus far I’ve written in a Composition Notebook in longhand.  Yes, in longhand!  People think I’m insane for it, but there you are.  For some reason, writing in longhand is very therapeutic.

I think I may have another chapter for H&B by tomorrow.  The way things are going, I believe I may be done with it entirely in about a month or two.  Yes, I’ve just added a few new plot twists that may get my mind in a plotz but otherwise, things are going quite well.  It’s funny because I’m still on the first draft!  I can’t wait to be done, honestly…  This one’s going to be the death of me.

Stay tuned.

Snow = Words

Posted in Uncategorized on December 10, 2009 by Aesciane

I’ve been driven crazy these past few days because I have been snowed in, and to keep from going totally psychotic, I wrote and wrote and wrote.  And then I got some more coffee.  And then I wrote some more.

It worked.  See Fictionpress.

Posting fiction online

I was a little wary of sharing some of my finished work with the world.  Someone recommended that I do so to open myself up to sharing the work with people in the publishing business.  It’s a little nerve-wracking, but I did find FictionPress – A great site to post original fiction and poetry.  So this is where I’m currently hosting my work.

Gaia

Posted in Uncategorized on December 5, 2009 by Aesciane

Celeste and Christian are 18-year-olds very much in love.  Christian is about to take it to the next step by proposing to her.  Celeste is just discovering some unlikely tendencies toward strange visions of demons and creation.  As this progresses she realizes that she has some very unusual powers.  Things she touches, any dead thing, will spring to life before her eyes.  She can create with a single thought.  It scares her, but Christian finds out by accident, and he realizes how special she is.  They both meet the modern reincarnation of the goddess Diana, who tells them that Gaia, mother eart, has chosen Celeste to be her successor for this lifetime, and has chosen well, for Celeste has a great deal of strength and self possession.  Unfortunately, two creatures of deception, Sephiroth and Illusia, are after Celeste for these extraordinary powers.  They want to use them to create an evil army and take control of the universe.  Gaia won’t have it, and gives Celeste the extraordinary will and power it will take to destroy Sephiroth and Illusia for good.  All this will threaten Celeste’s relationship with Christian, but Christian refuses to let Celeste go this alone, and sticks by her throughout the ordeal.

Fantasy genre kick

Posted in Uncategorized on December 5, 2009 by Aesciane

I think it’s kind of funny that everything I write lately is within the fantasy genre.  I’ve never been good at science fiction, so fantasy was the natural choice there.  My imagination sometimes gets the better of me.
Sometimes?  OK, reality check here…  Sometimes I wonder where I got this imagination of mine.  But I’m glad.  Otherwise, I wouldn’t be sharing these crazy things with all of you.

The current stories under the genre of fantasy I’m working on:  “Hammer & Bone,” “Gaia,” “The Ballad of Cuillen Dair.”  The finished one I have is “Flight of Black Annis.”
